As Sheepy Chic is evolving I am discovering a wonderful world of natural plant fibres that can be incorporated into the creation of throws, cushions and wall art. I have been using knitting yarns, crushed crystals and ribbons to bring texture into my creations, but also have discovered, for example, yak fibres bring a thickness and softness to clouds and sheep designs. Nettle fibre and rose bush fibres add a soft sheen and silk flow to my moon gazing hare designs and sea scapes.
Coccoon strippings, soy fibres and flax are used to create a natural nuetral background when layering felt pictures. Recently I have introduced a touch of luxury into my work with the utilization of mink, cashmere, silks, alpaca and camel.
These luxury fibres are layered into various wools when making my luxury banded cushion sets. These sets comprise of one extra large cushion and two regular size cushions with either dragonfly or flower fairy kilt pins placed on the back of the cushion.
